The Oslava River forms several very interesting retreats in the countryside, including the section between Velké Meziříčí and Naměšť nad Oslavou. Head out on your excursion from Velké Meziříčí – but visit the château first, which houses the Velké Meziříčí Museum. You can enjoy beautiful views from the lookout tower at the Church of St Nicholas, and you can view the entire surrounding area, including the monumental highway bridge, from the lookout tower on Fajtův kopec Hill, which lies just beyond the city. After a beautiful walk through the valley of the Oslava River, continue onward to Naměšť nad Oslavou. Here, you can admire the historical city centre, which is a protected urban conservation zone. The Renaissance château that towers atop a striking cliff above the city is also worth a visit. The road to the château leads across a stone bridge adorned with valuable Baroque statues.
