Day 14: The King of Shoes and a Town of Hats

Route description:

The Travel Vlogger team begins the last day of their journey with a rainy ride from Otrokovice to Zlín. Here they learn about Zlín’s favorite son, Tomáš Baťa, the “king of shoes” who had a particularly interesting office.

Next, the guys head to the “town of hats”, Nový Jičín, in the Moravian-Silesian region of the Czech Republic. Brian and Garrett try on a sampling of the 300–400 head toppers at a local museum. One of them is definitely more enthusiastic about playing dress up – can you guess who?

The mountain town of Štramberk provides a perfect place to fuel up for the final biking leg of the journey. The team stops for lunch and tries the local specialty, “Štramberk ears”. One last local rider, Jana, accompanies them from Příbor to the final destination of Ostrava. Will the guys stay dry or will the skies open up one last time for a tearful goodbye? You’ll have to watch and see.

This route is perfect for exploring the Czech Republic’s often overlooked Moravian-Silesian region.
