Romance in the Berounka River Valley

64 km | 3 days | Family, Seniors, Active

Route description:

Berounka, the largest tributary of the Vltava River, is sometimes called by boaters and avid hikers “Stará řeka” (the Old River). Because Berounka is not very demanding in terms of boating experience, it is perfect for beginners as well. The river flows gently from Plzeň with soft rapids and a deep trough that turns into a long “valley” between forested slopes and the protected natural reserves of Háj and Zábělá. From Chrást, the river offers a cruise through a flat, wide valley with a gentle flow as well as standing water with numerous weirs. The following section features both long and short rapids, and the river continues to flow through a romantic valley, both shallow and deeply carved with forested areas.

začátek Plzeň (pravý břeh řeky Mže pod jezem) - tábořiště u Dolanského mostu - tábořiště Kobylka - tábořiště U Varských, Zvíkovec - tábořiště Ahoj, Skryje
