The trail starts in Harrachov. You can comfortably make your way there by the rack railway from Kořenov and Tanvald, and in summer you can take the regular cycle bus. From the bus station follow the blue hiking trail towards Mumlava Hut and the Breakfast of Krakonoš. Take a short break; the legendary crossing of hiking trails is said to be the place where Krakonoš, the Lord of the Giant Mountains, has breakfast before setting off to inspect his domain. Continue along the yellow trail markers to Vosecká Hut, which was built on the Vosecká Meadow in 1260, and then yellow and red trail markers will take you to Tvarožník. Continue along the border with Poland taking the Czech-Polish Friendship Route for about two kilometres and then turn to the Elbe Meadow and to the spring of the Elbe. This important pilgrimage point is the symbolic spring of the Elbe River and is provided with a concrete ring. You can also find a stone wall with mosaic stone emblems of the towns through which the longest Czech river flows there. The real spring of the Elbe is situated dozens of metres higher. From the spring of the Elbe continue along the yellow trail markers to the U čtyř pánů Crossing, where you will take the blue hiking trail, which will take you back to Harrachov. Do not forget to stop and admire the Mumlavský Waterfall on the way there or back.
